About the firm

Srihari & Co., Chartered Accountants, was founded in West Mambalam, Chennai, in 1986. Today the firm handles audit, income tax, GST, company and LLP compliance, FEMA and FCRA work, and accounting, for individuals, partnerships, companies, trusts and charities.

How the firm began

Mr E V Subrahmanyam, fondly known as Manikutty, founded Srihari & Co. in 1986. He was a chartered accountant who practised in direct taxation. He believed that a chartered accountant’s first duty was to give honest, careful advice, and he brought that conviction to every client he served.

His technical understanding, warmth and patient guidance shaped not only the firm’s practice but also the many young professionals he mentored over the years. The values he instilled, of integrity, diligence and genuine care for clients, continue to guide Srihari & Co. today. In those early years, the firm built its practice one client at a time, through careful work and personal commitment.

As India’s economy opened up and business became more complex, the firm grew alongside its clients. The practice expanded into statutory compliance, business advisory and tax planning. With the arrival of GST in 2017, our indirect tax team helped businesses move into the new tax regime.

As our clients’ needs became global, so did our services. Today we also assist US citizens with their income-tax filings and provide cloud-based accounting through Intuit QuickBooks, for clients in India and abroad.

Through every change, one thing has remained the same: our commitment to doing the right work, the right way.
